Collins has worked in the Career Resource Center for over six years. Her successes include increasing the amount of student career center use by over 200%, coordinating the largest environmental career fair in New England (with over 85 participating employers), supporting an increase in student internship placement by 70% and establishing a grant funded intern partnership with the White Mountain National Forest Service. In addition to her role in Career Services, Collins also instructs a 1-credit professional development course.
Her professional engagement beyond Unity includes serving on the Executive Board of the Maine College Career Consortium and as a State Director for the New England Associaiton of Cooperative Education and Field Experience. She’s been an invited guest presenter at numerous green careers meeting and conferences throughout New England. Next year she will be working closely with a grant funded project with the Maine Campus Compact as a “Green Careers trainer”; providing professional development training related to environmental jobs to 70 Americorps Vista Volunteers. Collins’s professional background includes six years experience working in the natural resources field as a wilderness ranger for a variety of state and federal agencies. She holds a Bachelors Degree in Park Management from Unity College.
