Title: NASA: Monitoring Changes in Lake Eutrophication Using Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) – Georeferencing Imagery of Water Bodies
The objectives of this project is to develop methodology using the programs, Python, R and ArcGIS to georeference water images, explore sun glint and wave corrections and amend drone flight protocol for future usage. More specifically, the objective is to georeference aerial imagery of Unity Pond taken by the UAV with no identifiable features to assign ground control points. The goal is to solidify a mathematical equation to manually georeference the water images to ensure that they have locational points and can be properly pieced together in a whole image, and a map template.
