Virtual Open House – Hybrid Learning

October 20, 2020

Greetings!

As we work towards a plan to resume in-person classes once it is safe to do so, I want to take the opportunity this week to share with you our new Virtual Open House for Hybrid Learning. This open house provides a visual overview of what Hybrid Learning is, and how it benefits students.  It is my hope that you will take a few moments to scroll through the page and click on the videos to learn more about what Hybrid Learning has to offer, and share it within your circles.

While the transition to Hybrid Learning coincided with the move to a year of remote learning due to COVID-19, please know that in-person learning continues to be an integral part of the Hybrid Learning curriculum for our students. This means that students will continue to have in-person and online options to complete their coursework in a way that makes sense for them.  We hope to resume in-person courses in Fall 2021, as long as it is safe to do so in light of COVID-19.  It is also imperative that there is a critical mass of students looking to enroll in these opportunities, so that we are able to fund top-quality in-person programming.

As Unity College alumni, we count on your support to share the value of a Unity College degree with those in your circle. You know better than anyone that Unity College graduates alumni who are ready to tackle a variety of environmental issues, and who are not afraid to do the difficult work necessary to make the world a better place for future generations. A Unity College education has never been more relevant and necessary as we continue to navigate and address environmental crises on a national and global scale.

Please consider sharing the link to this Virtual Open House with potential Unity College students, or your colleagues who may want to share with their circles.

Mike WallaceOn a somber note this week, I share with you the unfortunate passing of Dr. Michael Wallace, Class of 1973. Michael was a proud Unity College alum who went on to do important work as a wildlife scientist in the area of California condor conservation. Please take a moment to read Dr. Wallace’s impressive biography and his 2013 interview with us as part of our Unity College Alumni Stories.  Our thoughts are with Dr. Wallace’s family during this incredibly difficult time.

Thank you for taking the time to share Hybrid Learning’s Virtual Open House within your circles.  Our alumni are the greatest marker of Unity College’s success, and your support in sharing the exciting work happening at Unity College will ensure the College has a long and sustainable future.  As always, please contact us at development@unity.edu, with any questions or comments you may have.

In Unity,

Dr. Melik Peter Khoury
President
