Students will be introduced to and practice basic data collection, surveying, lifting of items to surface, organisms and artifacts, excavating, sampling, and organismal observation. All scientific diving training meets the standards of the American Academy of Underwater Sciences (AAUS). This course is typically scheduled in the northern hemisphere summer and fall, but may also be taught in tropical or southern hemisphere location at different times.
