Graduate Adjunct Faculty

Brittany Tomasin

Credentials

B.S. in Marine Biology and Ecology, M.Sc. in Marine Biology and Ecology

Plunging through the icy, California kelp forests as a child sparked Brittany’s interest in pursuing SCUBA diving and marine biology. She is a SCUBA instructor and scientific diver and has conducted over 1,500 SCUBA dives worldwide. She has studied coral reefs in Australia and Papua New Guinea, has worked with large shark species in Hawaii and Mexico, and has worked with marine animals in rescue and rehabilitation for over ten years. Her published scientific research focuses on fish behavior and how it can be heavily influenced by environmental changes, as well as the use of drones in marine animal research, aiming to reduce disturbance in future studies. Brittany received her B.S. in Marine Biology and Ecology from the University of California, Santa Cruz, and her M.Sc. in Marine Biology and Ecology from James Cook University, Australia.
