Ph.D. in Forestry, M.S. in Environmental Resources, B.A. in Anthropology

Dr. April Grecho has taught in the online environment for over 10 years, developing and delivering content for courses focused on environmental conservation and natural sciences. Dedicated to student learning and educational quality, she provides an instructional yet engaging online experience while maintaining an intellectual and personal presence. Dr. Grecho received a Ph.D. in Forestry from North Carolina State University, an M.S. in Environmental Resources from Arizona State University, and a B.A. in Anthropology from the University of New Hampshire. Her passion for the natural world began growing up on a dairy farm in upstate New York, exploring acres of woodlands, swamps, and the area’s natural resources. This led to her journey in environmental resource management and agricultural practices that work with nature. Dr. Grecho has been involved in various environmental resource activities volunteering with the National Park Service on conservation and grazing projects along the Verde River within the Tonto National Forest. She worked for the USDA Natural Resource Conservation Service as a Soil Conservationist in northern Maine, developing soil erosion and nutrient management projects and oversaw the Wildlife Habitat Improvement Program. Additionally, she has worked in municipal commercial waste programs and with campus and local communities to promote and develop recycling programs. Outside of academia and conservation activities, Dr. Grecho serves in several leadership roles in her community. She is active on the Pearl River County 4-H Advisory Council, the local chamber of commerce board, and nonprofit organizations to help promote and better her community.
