Dr. Eric Steelman is an adjunct faculty member teaching within the Environmental Health and Safety Program.  He received a Doctor of Health Science and Master of Public Health from A.T. Still University and a Master of Science in Biology from the University of Nebraska at Kearney.   Eric specializes in biological and chemical safety, and indoor air quality.  As an industry leader, Eric is known for incorporating project management and six sigma principles to drive outcomes-based safety and risk strategic initiatives.  As a senior loss control consultant, he works with companies to not only assess and mitigate risk, but to align interventions with business goals to form value and buy in.  Eric’s research focuses on risk perception, specifically, how attitudes and perceptions of risk affect injury rates.  As an instructor, Eric encourages active, collaborative learning by engaging students in an effort to foster skills in critical thinking about environmental and occupational health.  Outside of industry and academia, there is a good chance you will see him at a tea party or playing Lego’s with his two daughters.
