Heather Rissler

Credentials
PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology
Dr. Heather Rissler earned her PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the Australian National University and her EdD in Leadership for Organizations from the University of Dayton. Her research interests have ranged from studying pigment biosynthetic pathways to optimizing photosynthesis in plants and algae, as well as the role of pigments in intracellular signal transduction pathways. Her organizational leadership work focuses on the role of faculty development in promoting inclusive teaching. Dr. Rissler has been teaching chemistry and biology at the college level since 2004. She is a lifelong learner and is currently learning how to play the ukulele. Her next learning adventure is beginning flamenco lessons. Dr. Rissler conveys a passion for student success and is driver to support students and their learning.
