Dr. Jon McKenzie is an Adjunct Professor of Marine Science at Unity Environmental University. He received a Ph.D. in Engineering and Applied Sciences with an emphasis on Marine Ecology from the University of New Orleans, a M.S. in Natural Resources from Delaware State University, and a BS in Marine Biology from the University of North Carolina Wilmington. Jon’s research has focused on marine ecology with an emphasis on Elasmobranchs. His work focused on shark in the Gulf of Mexico and around Florida.  He has spent the past 15 years teaching in higher education in settings ranging from the traditional classroom and online to remote settings such as a catamaran in the Caribbean to a shark reef in Fiji.  When not teaching Dr. McKenzie can be found fishing, SCUBA diving, or playing pinball.
