Dr. Kent McCorkle is a dedicated educator with a passion for chemistry that traces back to his early years in Indiana. His curiosity about the world led him to a high school chemistry class, where he first glimpsed the science that would shape his future. Dr. McCorkle earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Rose–Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute, Indiana. As a first–generation college student, he faced many challenges but persevered and ultimately thrived in his academic journey.
He continued his studies, earning a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Auburn University. After completing his doctorate, Dr. McCorkle relocated to California, where he met his wife and started a family with two children. A long–time proponent of online education, Dr. McCorkle created the popular YouTube channel GetChemistryHelp in 2013. His personal and professional experiences shape his teaching philosophy, and he is committed to guiding students as they navigate their own
educational paths.
