Dr. Patricia Moody Harveson is an Adjunct Professor at Unity Environmental University. Patricia earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Tarleton State University, a Master of Science in Range and Wildlife Management from Texas A&M-Kingsville where she studied habitat use by ocelots and bobcats, and a PhD in Wildlife and Fisheries Sciences from Texas A&M University where she studied human impacts on endangered Florida Key deer.  Patricia has 30 years of experience as a wildlife researcher studying large and meso-carnivores including mountain lions, black bears, jaguars, kit foxes, coyotes, ocelots, and bobcats.  For the past 15 years, she was a research scientist and professor at Sul Ross State University where she served as the former Davidson Endowed Chair for Conservation Biology with the Borderlands Research Institute. During her time at Sul Ross, she led a comprehensive investigation of mountain lions in West Texas. Currently, her work focuses on the conservation of carnivores through research, education, and outreach. She is a coalition member of Texans for Mountain Lions and is an advocate for wildlife policy changes for large carnivore conservation. Patricia is also an artist using her work to promote the conservation of wildlife and their habitats by supporting conservation organizations and inspiring an appreciation of nature.
