Dr. Rachel Isaacs is a biogeographer with a focus on landscape ecology, climate change, GIS, remote sensing, and statistical analyses. She received her Ph.D. from Pennsylvania State University, her Master’s from Texas A&M University, and her Bachelor’s from the University of Hawai’i-Hilo.
Her research focuses primarily on the spatial and temporal patterns of climate change and natural hazards on forested landscapes in the U.S. and internationally. Her background, field expertise, and technical skills have enabled her to work in the government, the private sector, and academia for more than 15 years. In addition to teaching, she is also running an environmental research consulting firm specializing in the impacts of climate change, land use/landcover assessments, wetland conservation, and precision agriculture.
