James Sanders III is an Instructor of Communications at Fayetteville Technical Community College in Farmington, New Mexico. He received an M.A. in Communication Arts specializing in Broadcast Journalism from the New York Institute of Technology, BS in Media and Communications from the State University of New York College at Old Westbury, and A.A. in Humanities from SUNY Orange. James has been involved in public speaking and communications since 2010 and is a well-respected expert in the field. Besides working in academia, he has done motivational speaking for two and four-year colleges. He is passionate about mentoring young men of color. He has worked with several institutions on building BIPOC men of color initiatives to empower them to become civically responsible and productive members of society.

Professor Sanders is an excellent teacher and works at delivering courses using question-driven instruction. He’s a passionate instructor with thirteen years of public speaking experience. He’s been privileged to regularly participate with and foster countless stories of public speaking success. Therefore, he’s fully confident when he says, “Public speaking skills are empowering academically; public speaking skills are empowering socially; public speaking skills are empowering professionally; public speaking skills are empowering financially; and public speaking skills are empowering politically.” Public speaking has not only empowered his life on multiple levels but he’s been honored daily to witness the life-enhancing influence of public speaking in the lives of his students. However, in today’s fast-paced hyper-communicative world, the value of public speaking is not only realized on a competitive level but even more so in the real world. Today individuals, as well as, entire organizations and companies, who are focused on optimal success, must make public speaking skills a priority.
