Kayla Jeswald

Baccalaureate Adjunct Faculty

Kayla Jeswald

Hi everyone!

Welcome! Professor Kayla Jeswald will be your instructor for this course!

She is so excited to get this semester started! She cannot wait to learn more about you and work with you this semester!

Please do not hesitate to contact her with any questions or concerns you might have along the way.

Since we are working online, her office hours will be by appointment only. She would be happy to set up a time with you throughout the semester to discuss any concerns or questions you may have.

A little bit about your instructor before we get started: She has been teaching college-level English for seven years. She started teaching in the classroom for about 3 years, and then made the transition to online teaching almost 4 years ago. Her background is in English and Creative Writing. Most of her experience with teaching has dealt with introduction to writing courses, but over the last few years, she has been teaching Writing 1 and Writing 2.

Besides Writing courses, she has also taught Introduction to Literature courses, Succeeding in College courses, and Creative Writing courses. She comes from a long line of teachers, so teaching has always been in her blood. She has a deep passion for academics and education, and she loves helping others. She loves that she can do both in her daily job.

Besides teaching, she enjoys reading and writing in her free time. She has worked as a freelance writer/author over the last few years. She has published a few short stories and poems and released her first novel in 2020. She is currently working on her second collection. When she is not writing, she enjoys cooking and baking. She comes from a large Italian family, so she loves to make family recipes for her loved ones. She also has a two-year-old Golden Retriever named Tucker. She loves her fur baby very much! He brings a lot of joy and laughter into her life. She loves to take him for walks and rides in the car.

Although she has been teaching online for a few years now, this is Professor Jeswald’s first term at Unity Environmental University. She asks that you please bear with her and she navigates the course. If you have any questions or issues with anything in the course, please email her or set up an appointment with her. She is happy to help! She also has plenty of supplementary materials to offer if you do not understand something in the course.

She looks forward to getting to know you this semester, and she is so excited to read your work! She will be in touch shortly with some guidelines for the course and what we will be focusing on in Week 1. Enjoy the rest of your week!
