Lori Ann Simmons, M.S., is a dedicated mathematics instructor. With a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay and a minor in Environmental Science and Business Administration, Lori Ann has a diverse academic background. She furthered her education with a Master’s degree in Applied and Computational Mathematics with an emphasis in Statistics from the University of Minnesota Duluth. Lori Ann specializes in innovative teaching methods, including Project-Based Learning (PBL) and guided notes, and is committed to providing timely feedback to her students. Her professional interests include online education, having over five years of experience in this field, and creating Open Educational Resources (OER). Lori Ann has authored two OER textbooks and spearheaded a 100% OER initiative at Chippewa Valley Technical College, saving students over $1.1 million. Outside the classroom, Lori is passionate about outdoor activities. She and her husband, along with their two children, Charlotte and Miles, enjoy kayaking, swimming, gardening,
snowmobiling, and skiing. Lori’s enthusiasm for teaching and helping students succeed is evident in her approach, aiming to foster a supportive and engaging learning environment.
