M.A. in Journalism

Sarah Horne received an MA in Journalism from the Missouri School of Journalism, a BA in Political Science from The College of Wooster, and a teaching credential from UCLA. She has worked as an international journalist in Washington, D.C., Missouri, Argentina, and along the Mexico/California border. During this time, Sarah reported on political, human rights, and environmental issues such as pollution along the New River and its effects on residents. She has also published research examining how the mass media achieved mass mobilization during the Sandinista Government in Nicaragua and research on how the Abuelas de la Plaza de Mayo used the media to find their missing grandchildren in Argentina.

Sarah has taught Journalism, English, and Social Sciences for over 10 years and built the award-winning Journalism Pathway at Da Vinci Schools. She’s passionate about guiding students to become effective writers and communicators.

Sarah was born in the Cayman Islands, grew up in Guatemala, and has traveled to 37 countries.
