Stephanie has been working with animals in some capacity professionally for over 10 years from education in zoological facilities to training animals in the entertainment industry to training service dogs for a national organization to animal welfare with a focus public health and safety. Stephanie’s passion for animals though started much earlier than this growing up in Texas. In short summary, she fell in love with manatees after seeing a newspaper article about a manatee that fractured its skull when she was only 8 years old. This drive and passion led her to starting a non-profit organization, Kids Making A Difference, by the time she was 10 which had the goal to get other kids together to help animals. She later self-published a children’s book through Kids Making A Difference, Sydney Saves A Species: Message from the Manatee, which is based on her story. A sequel is in the works.
