SUBJECT: Giving Thanks for Unity
Dear Unity College Community,
With some of us going on break, some taking well-deserved time off, and some holding the fort next week, I thought I would send out a quick message before many of us switch to Thanksgiving mode.
I love this time of year in Maine. I know some folks love their pumpkin spice, but for me it’s the smell of the leaves that lets me know it’s late fall. And late fall is a season for giving thanks. Thanksgiving is a chance for simple and heartfelt gratitude. I appreciate the invitation to reflect as we begin to wind up the first semester and enter the holiday season.
As always, I’m grateful for family, for the country and state that welcomed me as a young man. I’m grateful for my friends and for my colleagues. In particular, I’m grateful to all of you who make Unity College a special place to work, grow, and learn. As we enter this holiday season, I am mindful of what we have here at Unity College and how lucky we are. And I recognize that with these gifts come responsibility.
We have been given an awful lot. I, speaking just for myself, intend to work hard to share as much Unity College goodness I can with as many as possible. Thank you for your constant efforts to do the same and to continue to dedicate yourself to our current students and to show them the absolute best version of ourselves.
With continued work and commitment, together we can savor the gift of being part of the Unity College community while sharing America’s Environmental College with those who need it most.
