Unity College men’s basketball player Eddie Kopacz was named to the United States Collegiate Athletic Association 1st Team All-American team during a banquet in Uniontown, Pa., Tuesday night.

Kopacz, a senior, scored the 1,000th point of his college career in a home game Nov. 10 vs. the University of Maine at Machias, finishing his career at Unity with 1,438 points (25.2 points per game).

The 6-foot-2, 180 pound guard/forward from Thompson, Conn., led the USCAA in scoring with 30.8 ppg this year and helped lead the Rams to its first Yankee Small Colleges Conference playoff appearance since the early 2000s.

“Eddie has been a great player for us over the past four years and I’m really excited he has been recognized by the United States Collegiate Athletic Association for his hard work,” Unity College Athletic Director Chris Kein said.
