Unity College will offer a wide range of activities during its annual community weekend, Friday, September 20 through Sunday, September 22.  Activities will take place on the main campus located at 90 Quaker Hill Road, as well as the Unity College Center for the Performing Arts (UCCPA) located at 42 Depot Street, both addresses in Unity, Maine.

On Friday, September 20, the Unity College women’s soccer team will take the home field against the University of Maine at Augusta (UMA) at 3 p.m., followed by a men’s soccer game against UMA at 5 pm.  An art show opening featuring the work of artist Michael Shaughnessy will take place at the Unity College Center for the Performing Arts (UCCPA) from 5-7 pm.  An alumni reception will take place in Quimby Library on the campus from 6-8 pm.  In addition, Gary and the Pacemakers, Unity College’s faculty and staff band, will perform on campus in the Student Activities Building at 8:30 p.m.  The concert is free and open to the general public.

Events on Saturday, September 21, include a parent breakfast and welcome from President Stephen Mulkey in the Student Center from 8:30-10 am.  A Woodsmen’s Meet will take place on Vickery Field from 8:30-4 pm.  The women’s soccer team will take the home field against Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) at 1 pm, with the men playing against SMCC at 3 pm.  A memorial gathering to celebrate the life of Professor Emeritus David Purdy who passed away on November 26, 2012 will be held at the UCCPA from 5-7 pm.  The event will include testimonials from the community and will be hosted by Unity College.

A registration and information booth will be open from 10 am -2 pm in front of Constable Hall.  The schedule of activities available at the booth will include details of: on campus tours with Leigh Juskevice ’92; videotaping of alumni stories with Professor John Zavodny; storytelling/video with Stephen Puibello ’80; and a trail walk led by the Unity College trail crew.

Athletics will take center stage on Sunday, September 21, when the women’s soccer team plays against alumni at 11 am, followed by the men’s soccer team playing against alumni at 12:30 pm.
