Dear Unity Community,

Today your colleagues met again for an intensive workday to develop a full-semester pilot project for the F2Y initiative. Groups have put forward a variety of innovative and transformational expeditionary learning experiences for Unity students including:

  • People, Plastics and Policy
  • Solving Problems of Justice in Energy Systems
  • Got Food?
  • The Secret Lives of Livestock
  • Expeditionary Learning in a Business Environment
  • Biodiversity: shifting baselines and its consequences

The next steps for the F2Y working group are to review the proposals developed on July 10th and recommend one semester long pathway for implementation for Spring 2019

I also want to take the chance to thank all of the individuals who offered their time and good thinking during our two very intense work days. As a result of that work, we are now ready to move forward with implementing the first project enrolling our students in a full semester expeditionary learning experience. We look forward to sharing updates on this work in the coming weeks and months and to giving the entire community the chance to see this work in action!
