Dear Unity Community,
In the past few weeks, the F2Y Committee members have been hard at work planning for how to take F2Y to the next stage of implementation. Inspired by the Senior Leadership retreat, we have been discussing the importance of identifying the audience for our work and meeting that group’s needs by designing compelling and engaging curriculum that supports the Unity College Mission. To that end, we have planned two work days that include faculty and staff as part of the plan-to-action process. You can see the agenda for today’s work day here: June 25th, 2018 F2Y agenda.
I also want to take this moment to introduce myself. Now in my third week at Unity, I am stepping into the many roles of the Chief Student Success Officer. A key piece of my work will be to Chair the F2Y initiative. I am looking forward to this challenge! You can read a little about my background here. I am looking forward to meeting with each of you in the coming year.
- The online bulletin board report is nearing completion and should be delivered to Unity College imminently. The data from this report will help inform the ongoing design of our initiatives — especially with respect to the interest of students in different potential approaches to F2Y.
- We are beginning June 25th work day (see agenda link above). Ron Mahurin will be joining us and facilitating some of the sessions. Today, we will discuss the context for our work, flagship learning outcomes, complete a vision and branding process for F2Y and create test-bed concepts for curriculum delivery.
- The F2Y ad-hoc committee meets next week to discuss the results from the June 25th work day and begin planning the upcoming July 10th workday.
- We anticipate receiving the results of the online bulletin board to discuss next week. This information will be used to inform the online survey and next steps of our project design.
