Unity College Chosen for Credential As You Go Initiative

January 13, 2023

Unity Among 28 Institutions Selected Nationwide

Unity College Enterprise is announcing its selection as a participant in the Credential As You Go Initiative (CAYG).

This selection means Unity College Enterprise will receive extensive access to expert technical assistance as the College continues to craft robust certification and upskilling programs within our different Sustainable Education Business Units.

The Credential As You Go technical assistance resources include toolkits, playbooks, webinars, and conferences.  As an early adopter, Unity is committing to reviewing the tools provided by Credential As You Go.

“The College will benefit from this test of resources by having a framework for credential development and the support of Credential As You Go throughout our incremental credentialing efforts,” said the President of Unity College Enterprise & CAO, Dr. Erika Latty.

The Cohort comprises a range of institutions, including four-year colleges and universities, community colleges, and public universities, amongst others. Those institutions include Minnesota State Colleges & Universities, Louisiana State University (LSU) Online & Continuing Education, and Elon University.

Unity College is proud to be part of this consortium of big thinkers helping to provide a path for more educational opportunities, said Dr. Melik Peter Khoury, President and CEO of Unity College. “This was a natural step forward, as Unity College continues to diversify its offerings beyond degrees with upskilling and workforce development in the green career space.

Credential As You Go kicked off as a small initiative back in 2021 but has grown substantially thanks to a grant from Walmart. In a recent release, Shannon Rowan, Senior Manager of Opportunity at Walmart, said “We see the potential to expand incremental credentialing through these new partnerships and the number of organizations interested in getting involved.”
