Internship experiences often prove to be the deciding factor in helping new college graduates to land their all important first job.
With its focus on experiential, hand-on learning, Unity College is a providing ground for a wide range of internship experiences.
On December 5, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Unity College Center for the Performing Arts (UCCPA), Unity College students will be offering comprehensive presentations on their recent internship experiences. The event is free and open to the general public. The UCCPA is located at 42 Depot Street, Unity, Maine.
“We have students who have travelled the globe to gain work experience in fields like captive wildlife care and education, conservation, and sustainable agriculture,” noted Reeta Benedict, Administrative Assistant and Events Coordinator with the Career Resource Center (CRC). “Our students will be sharing some fascinating experiences and they are using this forum to celebrate and showcase experiential learning from around the world.”
In addition to formal presentations over sixty students will be presenting in an open format.
There will be a strong international flavor to the evening. “Students who have pursued internships in Israel and Africa will be offering the specifics of their internships, sharing photos and video, and expressing the cultural context of their work,” explained Nicole Collins, Internship Coordinator / Career Consultant in the CRC.
