New Year, New Opportunities!

January 6, 2021

Greetings!

I hope that you and your loved ones had a healthy, happy holiday season. A new year is officially upon us! Last year we often heard, or maybe even said ourselves, that we could not wait for 2020 to be over along with all the uncertainty and changes that came with it. The reality is, this uncertainty does not give us the benefit of an end date on the calendar. If we learned nothing in 2020, it is that uncertainty itself is what is guaranteed. However, uncertainty has the potential to create new opportunities!

While many of us are emotionally, mentally, and physically exhausted from the events of the past year, I hope that you will still give 2021 the opportunity to be the year you want it to be. I am not a fan of new year’s resolutions, however I am a proponent of vision and goals and believe that mindset can be a powerful thing. For many of us, engaging with those closest to us is a goal for this year. The implications of COVID-19 meant that many of us could not engage with people and causes that are important to us in a way we’ve traditionally enjoyed.

This week, I want to remind you of some of the ways you can engage with Unity College to support current and future students as we continue to widen the scope of educational offerings to meet the needs of a rapidly growing and incredibly diverse population of students. The Top 9 Ways for Alumni to Engage offers a variety of opportunities to bring your professional experience, skills, knowledge, and love for Unity College to students. As you know, professional development and networking are key components to alumni success, and we’d love for you to be a part of this important work.

9 ways to engage

Engaging with current students is a fun and purposeful way to support future Unity College alumni who will, hopefully, go on to work in fields similar to yours as the next generation of environmental leaders. What a great way to make a difference in the new year!
