Unity Environmental University is more than an institution of higher education; we are a multifaceted organization with multiple subsidiaries. Sustainable Ventures (SV) represents a portfolio of purpose driven products and services aimed at growing environmental awareness to new audiences. Each venture is a business manifestation of Unity Environmental University’s curriculum to help expand our mission. SV also seeks unique new partnerships for unique branded lifestyle experiences.

Sky Lodge


Sky Lodge is Unity Environmental University’s 150-acre Moose River campus, conveniently located along the Old Canada Road National Scenic Byway and tucked into Maine’s northwest timber country. The campus includes the Elaine and John Couri Welcome Center, a historic wilderness lodge built in 1929 with nine guest rooms and a 50-seat dining room, four cabins, a private rental home, single guest rooms, and an educational facility enjoyed by the local community locally known as the Moose River Valley Center (MRVC).

Sky Lodge is a premier destination for expedition education, summer camps, faculty-led programs (Unity’s Sky Lodge Provides Ideal Setting for Johns Hopkins’ Environmental Sciences and Policy Program’s Experiential Learning), business meetings, and getaways for non-profits, clubs, and other organizations. When not hosting educational activities, the property opens its doors to the general public interested in vacation rentals. Listed through popular online travel booking site and our own booking page. Sky Lodge offers options for single travelers, families, and groups. As a year-round destination for outdoor adventure our guests enjoy many local activities including hiking, golfing, biking, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, whitewater rafting, Nordic skiing, snowshoeing, and snowmobiling.

McKay Farm & Research Station


McKay Farm & Research Station is Unity Environmental University’s multi-faceted greenhouse and field facility in Thorndike, Maine. It is a working production farm, with herbs and produce available for wholesale or found in local grocery stores. Certified by Maine Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association (MOFGA), the five greenhouses and one-acre production fields showcase the next generation of sustainable agriculture. The Farm offers added services include contract growing and rental space in the greenhouses or fields.

The Unity Store


The Unity Store sells sustainable, purpose-driven, Unity Environmental University branded merchandise. The Store works with vendors who equally care about the people who make their products as well as the long-term impact they may have on the planet. The Store has a physical presence in Founders Hall North in Unity, ME and online.
