Why did you choose Unity?

I chose Unity for its flexibility and ease of online courses as I pursued my career in field research and data collections in the Bering Sea.

What made your experience at Unity special?

My experience with Unity was probably the best experience with school I’ve had. All of the professors were very accommodating to my schedule and needs, they will definitely work with you and be as flexible as they can which puts your mind at ease especially for those of us who have families or time consuming careers. I was worried about going to graduate school until I started my time at Unity, it made everything fall into place.

Where has your career taken you?

I currently work in the Bering Sea of Unalaska. I am a north pacific ground fish observer with AOI.

How has your Unity education benefited your career?

So far, my education from Unity has opened up new career opportunities for me. It has allowed me to network within the community to find better positions in my field of work as well as other paths in research that I would not have been able to accomplish or find without Unity’s guidance.

What advice would you give to current students?

I’d advise current Unity students to stay curious, take advantage of research opportunities, and network within the marine science community. These steps can really help as you prepare to enter the workforce.
