PSYC 101 Introduction to Psychology

PSYC101

Description

The purpose of this course is to provide a broad overview of the history of the field of psychology as well its current focal points. Research methods and scientific reasoning underlie the exploration and critical evaluation of the five main subfields of modern psychology: biological, developmental, cognitive, social, and mental health. The course will enable learners to evaluate the methods, practices, and findings of psychological studies, thus becoming critical consumers of this body of knowledge. By integrating and applying various perspectives derived from work across the subfields of psychology in the course project, learners will build a more complete understanding of a specific issue related to human behavior.
