Every quarter, Fortune 1000 boards have the same conversation about talent.

Not enough people. Wrong skills. AI disruption. Broken pipeline.

Then they write another check to their alma mater and post another req their recruiting team will struggle to fill.

I have spent over a decade on the supply side of that conversation. And I can tell you with complete certainty what is actually happening.

When a CEO tells me to work with their HR team, I know the conversation is over. Not because HR leaders are not talented. But because they just delegated a design problem to a function built to optimize an existing system. A design problem does not respond to optimization. It responds to reinvention.

You do not have a talent shortage. You have a design flaw. And the difference between those two diagnoses is the difference between a company that solves this in the next 24 months and one still having the same boardroom conversation in 2030.
