Board of Trustees

Unity Environmental University Leadership

Showing a commitment to higher education

Providing leadership and strategic vision

As an independent non-profit educational institution, Unity Environmental University relies on its board of trustees to serve as strategic advisors to the chief executive officer in determining the strategic vision of the University and being fiduciary stewards of the institution.

Unity Environmental University is fortunate to have a board of trustees made up of highly skilled professionals with a propensity for differentiated thinking and content who have demonstrated a commitment to relevance, higher education, sustainability, student success, and to Unity Environmental University itself.

The Board are active members in both the National Association of Corporate Directors [NACD] and the Association of Governing Boards [AGB].

With their 45 year mission to inspire directors to meet the challenges of modern governance, NACD have helped leaders in their quests to build successful companies that make a difference in the world. With peer-to-peer networking, trusted resources and dedication to partnering, innovation, and education they work with organizations to improve board effectiveness through best practices in leading edge corporate governance.

The Association of Governing Boards of Universities and Colleges outlines the singular nature of a board of trustee members. “To be invited to serve on a board of trustees is one of the highest honors a college or university can bestow upon an individual.  Such an invitation indicates that the individual has made a significant contribution to his or her community, has made noteworthy achievements in the service of society, and is capable of making equally important contributions to the institution and to higher education.  In a nation of 260 million people, only 50,000 citizens currently serve on academic governing boards.” Of those 50,000 board members serving nationally, 11 currently serve as members of the board of Unity Environmental University.

As with all independent educational institutions, members of the Unity Environmental University Board of Trustees volunteer because they believe in the mission of the University.

Unity Environmental University is honored by the service of our exemplary board of trustees.
