Moments of Clarity with Matt Russ

Matt celebrates Maine’s landscape in his paintings. He paints from life, working outdoors and often backpacking into remote locations. His work can be found in private collections nationwide, and in such institutions as Maine General Hospital, Verrill Dana, LLP, and the Colby College Environmental Studies Department. He has also donated paintings to non-profit organizations, including LifeFlight of Maine, Maine Island Trail Association, Maine Audubon Society, Cape Elizabeth Land Trust, Wolfe’s Neck Center for Agriculture & the Environment, and Hurricane Island Center for Science & Leadership. Matt’s painting Indian Bar #3 is featured in the recently published book Art of Penobscot Bay by Carl Little and David Little.
