When something goes wrong with work you’ve assigned, the answer isn’t “Well, I told them to do it.” The answer is looking in the mirror and asking:

  1. Did I set them up for success?
  2. Did I give them what they needed?
  3. Did I check in?
  4. Did I coach them through it?

Your team’s failures are your failures. Not because you did the work badly but because leadership means owning the outcome, period.
