Some chapters start the same way, with somebody who almost didn’t apply. Maybe they weren’t sure they belonged, or the timing never felt quite right. A first-generation student at a kitchen table after a double shift, sure that college is for other people. Nobody calls them a hero. Heroes rarely know they’re heroes in the beginning.
Una knows. Dogs have always had a sense for people. Who’s kind. Who’s carrying too much. Who’s about to give up. Unity Environmental University built Una with that same instinct, a gift for spotting the people who underestimate themselves. Una is always online with the next answer, ready with the next step, and the gentle nudge you need to keep going.

The Underdog
Not the hero of this journey. The one who helps navigate it.
This story was never about Una. It’s about the underdogs, students who are the first in their family to go to college, the career-changers who are starting over, or the parents studying between shifts. What Una does is simple, spot what’s possible in a student before they can see it themselves, then help clear the way.

The Question That Opens the Door
Sometimes the hardest part is knowing where to start.
Before the program search, the financial aid form, or the transfer credit evaluation, there’s usually a bigger question: Can I actually make this work? It can sit underneath every other question, making even a simple search feel like a bigger decision than it should.
That’s where Una comes in. Financial aid, transfer credits, the right program, the right fit, Una helps sort through the questions and find what comes next. Unity believes students shouldn’t just adapt to a world transformed by AI. They should help shape it. That requires the knowledge and judgment to understand its impact, question its output, and decide when its use is worthwhile.
That starts with looking at the whole picture. AI can advance research, expand access to education, and help solve environmental problems. It also uses energy, water, and materials. Both the benefits and the costs deserve the same rigorous, evidence-based scrutiny.
That’s why Unity doesn’t believe in avoiding AI altogether. We believe in understanding it well enough to use it responsibly in workplaces where AI is already part of the workflow.
Through Una, we’re putting that belief into practice and exploring how AI can expand student support while keeping people at the center.
