Why CEOs Automating Their Way to Efficiency Are Also Automating Their Way to Irrelevance

Let me be direct before anything else. If we are genuinely building toward a world where no one needs to work, where universal basic income is real, where the social contract has been reimagined from the ground up, then the conversation I am about to have is less urgent. That future is worth pursuing. I am not here to argue against it.

But that is not the world most CEOs are describing when they stand at conferences and announce AI-driven workforce reductions. They are not announcing a post-scarcity utopia. They are announcing quarterly efficiency plays. And in doing so, they are making one of the most stunning strategic errors in modern economic history.

So let us have this conversation seriously, because the people who should be raising alarms seem to be somewhere else entirely.
