Refer an Internship Site

October 13, 2020

Greetings!

You may remember fondly your internship experience during your time at Unity College. It’s an exciting time to take the skills and knowledge gained so far and put it into practice alongside professionals in a chosen field. This is also the time to learn how to navigate professional settings and learn how to work as a team and with a supervisor. Oftentimes, internships can even lead to a job offer before a student even graduates!

Internships are an integral part of the Unity College experience, for our Hybrid Learning students in particular who are required to complete at least one internship as part of their degree. An internship gives students a chance to get some real professional experience while deciding if this is the kind of work they’d like to do, allowing them to make that determination before they graduate. Oftentimes, students have a great experience that reaffirms their career goals. However, there are times when a student realizes that this may not be the career field for them, which is an important learning experience as well. Every step of the way students are supported by Career Services, their Internship Site Supervisor, a faculty member, and their Hybrid Learning Coach to ensure they have the tools and confidence to have a great experience, even if it turns out to be a little different than they expected.

Now, as alumni working in your chosen field, many of you have reached out looking for Unity College students to bring in as interns at your organization. You may have even joined us at the annual Environmental Career Fair on campus to share internship and job information with students. We find that employers who work with Unity College students as interns, are excited to bring them on as employees and continue to seek out Unity College interns in future years.

Unity College is committed to developing meaningful partnerships with organizations to create internship and job placement opportunities for students. As we continue this work we would like to reach out to our alumni, who so frequently seek our Unity College students, to ask if your organization has an internship opportunity that might be a good fit for current students? Or, is your organization interested in working with us to create an internship opportunity for a Unity College student?

If you think your organization could benefit from a Unity College intern, please complete this form and our Career Services team will follow-up with you to get the conversation started.
