A Message of Thanks

November 24, 2020

As we move into this Thanksgiving week, a non-traditional one for many of us this year, I want to share my thanks for you, our alumni. We are proud of our alumni and the incredible work you’re doing to tackle critical environmental challenges, big and small, across the country and the world. This week, I would like to take the opportunity to remind you of some benefits of being a Unity College alum. There are support services available and discounts to be had!

Unity College alumni have life-long access to Career Services support. We know things can change and plans unexpectedly altered, and we’re here to help. Are you on the job hunt as a result of COVID-19? Have you moved to a new area and are looking to get your foot in the door with an organization? Do you have questions about ways to continue your professional development in a beneficial way at the current stage of your career? Looking to advance in your current organization or maybe even change career paths all together? Complete our Connect with Career Services form to tell us a little about how we can help, and our Career Services team will reach out to you.

McKay Farm and Research Station in Thorndike, Maine offers a 10% discount on non-sale items to Unity College alumni. You can visit the store, which is open to the public year-round, to find a beautiful selection of seasonal and unique plants, Maine-inspired gifts, honey and maple syrup, and more. Keep an eye on their Facebook page as well as the Facebook Marketplace for new products.

Did you know that Unity College alumni can enjoy a 10% discount on lodging and food at Unity College: Sky Lodge in Moose River, Maine? There is never a bad time of year to visit such an awe-inspiring area of Maine and disconnect from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Rent one of the beautifully appointed cabins, or stay in a warm cozy room in the main lodge. While you’re there, enjoy a delicious meal in the Mountain View Dining room, surrounded by incredible scenery. You can find information on new menu offerings and exciting events happening at Sky Lodge on their Facebook page.

Lastly, I’d like to remind you about the Top 9 Ways for Alumni to Engage.  There are many ways you can help support Unity College.  You can helpconnect us with your organization to develop internships for current students, or share your story with us by completing the Alumni Stories questionnaire.  Please also consider sharing our official social media posts with your networks to spread the word about exciting things happening at Unity College.

Being a Unity College alum has its perks! Please know that we continue to be excited by the work you’re doing and representing the Unity College mission. The world needs Unity College alumni now more than ever, and this week I want to remind you how thankful I am for you. I hope you’ll reach out to us if we can ever offer you career support, and that you’ll take advantage of these alumni-exclusive discounts.

I hope you and your loved ones are able to enjoy a nice Thanksgiving, even if you’re sharing a meal virtually this year. As always, please contact us at development@unity.edu, with any questions or comments you may have.

In Unity,

Dr. Melik Peter Khoury
President
