Geoffrey Mazullo has a career spanning more than 20 years of university teaching and professional work across 21 countries. His international experience has given him a broad perspective on sustainability, finance, and the ways environmental and social challenges intersect across cultures, economies, and financial systems.

Geoff’s career has included extensive international fieldwork and research, which he now brings into the classroom as an adjunct professor. His interest in languages and his global professional experience have shaped his approach to sustainable finance as a fundamentally international discipline, one that draws on ideas and innovations from around the world.

Geoff joined Unity Environmental University as a subject matter expert to help design its new master’s program in Sustainable Finance. He developed the program’s introductory course, Sustainable Finance: Concepts, Myths and Methodologies, exploring the foundations of sustainable finance and the connections between environmental science, sustainability, and financial systems.

His approach emphasizes the importance of looking beyond U.S. borders to understand sustainable finance. From sustainability-linked loans and Islamic finance to gender-based finance and microfinance, Geoff highlights how many of the field’s important innovations have emerged from different regions and cultures. For him, sustainable finance is inherently global, and understanding that global perspective is essential to preparing the next generation of sustainable finance professionals.

Jeff Gowdy is a globally recognized leader and practitioner in sustainability and ESG, particularly in the areas of strategy, GHG emissions and science-based targets, reporting, goal setting, and materiality. He serves on the Board of the One Eleuthera Foundation (OEF) and teaches at Vanderbilt University. For the past twenty-two years, he has led projects across all aspects of environmental, social, and governance issues. He is a frequent speaker and writer, e.g. Sustainable Brands, GreenBiz. He graduated with academic honors from both the University of Virginia with a BS in Systems Engineering and Vanderbilt University with an MBA in strategy. Jeff has led hundreds of sustainability projects since 2002, including work on well-known projects such as GE’s Ecomagination launch, Walmart’s Sustainable Value Networks launch, and General Mills & Kellogg’s Science Based Targets. Other interesting projects: sustainability audit of Bonnaroo, GHG inventory for an NFL team, an LCA of insect-based protein, partnership assessment of African business schools for Vanderbilt, and an energy/climate plan for a Bahamian island.

Dr. Tomeika Williams brings more than a decade of experience in accounting education, along with a professional background spanning accounting, finance, and business. She holds associate, bachelor’s, and master’s degrees in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting and Finance, as well as a Ph.D. in Business with a specialization in accounting, earned in 2015.

Before focusing on higher education, Tomeika worked in private accounting from 2005 to 2012, serving as a staff accountant, consultant, and accounting manager for small and midsized businesses across industries including real estate, distribution, market research, insurance, and telecommunications. Her experience working directly in the field continues to inform her approach to teaching accounting, business management, and corporate finance.

Tomeika began teaching accounting as an adjunct instructor in 2010 and has since taught both online and campus-based courses. Her work in higher education also includes curriculum development and instructional design, giving her a broad perspective on how accounting concepts can be made relevant and accessible to students preparing for professional careers.

Her academic work includes research and writing in areas such as fraud, forensic accounting, tax, corporate governance, behavioral accounting, and auditing. In 2015, she published her first accounting textbook for business majors. She has also presented at regional and local accounting conferences, including events hosted by the American Accounting Association and the Georgia Society of CPAs.

Tomeika’s recent research explores the relationship between corporate governance, management, and fraud in the precious metals industry. Her work reflects her broader interest in understanding the financial, organizational, and human factors that shape ethical decision-making and accountability in business.
