Amanda Moeser

M.S. in Environmental Science

Amanda Moeser is a Distance Education Adjunct Faculty at Unity Environmental University. She received a B.S. in Environmental Science (Fish & Wildlife Ecology) from The Evergreen State College and a M.S. in Environmental Science (Conservation Biology) from Antioch University New England. She is an Interdisciplinary Environmental Studies PhD student at Antioch University New England researching equity, diversity, and resilience in small-scale fisheries and aquaculture operations. Her past research experience includes studying interactions between wild fisheries and aquaculture, aquatic community ecology, coastal habitat restoration, and transdisciplinary governance of marine social-ecological systems. Prior to joining Unity, she built shellfish reefs and led community-based marine conservation projects for The Nature Conservancy. She believes learning arises by purposefully seeking out diverse perspectives, working across disciplines, cultivating authentic connections, and applying knowledge to real-world problems. She strives to create a multi-dimensional and collaborative learning environment in support of all students. In her free time, she is the sole owner/operator of a shellfish aquaculture farm and enjoys spending time on the water in coastal Maine.
