My name is Dr. Tina Thompson (but you can call me Tina.) I am very excited to be your instructor for this course as higher education and personal development are my absolute passion. 

I am from the Twin Cities (in MN) born and raised. I spent a few teen years in South Dakota where I quickly learned I am a city girl and moved away from the country. Now, I revel in traveling to all our beautiful United States and meeting people from every area of life. 

My education has encompassed my love for people and leadership. I earned a BS from the U of MN in Family Social Science, an MA from Gonzaga University in Organizational Leadership, and finally a DBA in Leadership from Capella University. I also love online learning and connecting with anyone and everyone I can. 

I love to spend time with family, especially my 30-year-old son, and friends. I also love to travel, explore, and grow. I love to learn, read, write, and teach. I am a gratitude practitioner which means I start and end my day with gratitude and live each moment being thankful.

As I said, I am thrilled to be taking this academic journey with all of you. One important aspect of an academic journey I enjoy is that you will be building your personal, professional, and academic skills through this course and program. Do not be afraid to look inwardly. Academic development is as much about self-awareness and authenticity as it is about making leadership decisions.
