Doctorate in Organizational Leadership

Jermaine Carson was born in Detroit, Michigan on February 3, 1972. He was educated at National University, University of Phoenix, Argosy University, and Webster University. He holds a bachelor’s in criminal justice, and a double Master’s, one in Business and the other in Cybersecurity. Jermaine holds a doctorate in Organizational Leadership that concentrates on Quantitative Statistics. During his time serving in the U.S. Marines, Jermaine became aware of a significant need for Physical Security and Cybersecurity. While serving in the military, Jermaine was attached to several units, and in 2001 the Special Operations Command is where he began his focus on Cybersecurity. 

Jermaine honorably served 12 years in the U.S. Marines and separated in 2006. He began working for the Department of Justice as a Federal Case Manager in Victorville, California. Here, Jermaine was able to develop, evaluate, and analyze program needs and other data of inmates. He evaluated the progress of individual offenders while coordinating the integration of society reentry. Jermaine also facilitated business and management classes online and in the classroom for several universities, for undergraduate and graduate students. He designed one of HBCUs first online programs for Hampton University in 2015. In 2018, Jermaine and a fellow colleague developed a cybersecurity institute boot camp, to assist students in skills and prepare them for global issues in the field of cybersecurity.

Today, Jermaine works for the Department of Homeland Security as an Inspector. He conducts security assessments for federal property while working as a Federal Police Officer. Jermaine has conducted several low to high-level security assessments for the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), the Social Security Administration (SSA), and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). Jermaine works to detect security threats that pose dangers to critical infrastructures. His recommendations are based on the analysis of the assessment that focus on functionalities, vulnerabilities, security threat levels, and cybersecurity attacks.
