Unity Environmental University Earns 2025-2026 Military Friendly® School Designation
University Grows Military Population 17% Over the Past Year
Unity Environmental University is proud to announce that it has earned the 2025-2026 Military Friendly® School designation. This honor reflects the University’s ongoing commitment to supporting military service members, veterans, and their families by creating accessible, flexible, and affordable educational opportunities.

“At Unity Environmental University, ensuring access to education for those who have served our country and their families one of our top priorities,” said Unity President, Dr. Melik Peter Khoury. “We believe in meeting students where they are, whether on active duty, transitioning to civilian life, or balancing family responsibilities, by designing flexible, rigorous programs that truly accommodate their needs.”
As a Military Friendly® School, Unity Environmental University stands out for our dedication to programs and services that focus on six key areas of success for veterans: Student Retention, Graduation, Job Placement, Loan Repayment, Persistence, and Loan Default Rates. These factors are critical in ensuring veterans and their families can achieve their educational and career goals without undue financial or logistical barriers.
Unity’s unique model is working, “This past year our military population grew to 1,554. That’s up 17% from the prior year,” said Dr. Khoury.
Many of Unity’s military-affiliated students find their education is 100% covered by their military benefits. For those unsure about benefit eligibility, the University’s Distance Education Concierge team provides personalized assistance in determining available benefits and additional funding options.
“I am beyond grateful for the help that [Unity’s] concierge gave me so I could keep pursuing my dream of higher education. When other colleges told me ‘Sorry, there’s nothing we can do, money problems are your own,’ he helped me find a way. I’m so grateful and excited to be at Unity,” said Chris C., a current Unity Environmental University Distance Education student.
Unity Environmental University also offers support in applying for federal financial aid, such as grants and loans, and identifying private scholarships to further reduce out-of-pocket costs. The goal is to ensure that every qualified student, regardless of their financial situation, can afford a degree aligned with their professional and personal aspirations.
