The college is located at 90 Quaker Hill Road in Unity.  The presentation is free and open to the general public.

Lord’s latest novel is based on the lives of two prominent American missionaries, Dan and Emelie Bradley, who become close friends with the famous monk who became King Mongkut.  They arrived in Thailand (Siam) in 1835 and made significant contributions to Thailand’s medical, social and intellectual history.  Their diaries and letters, as well as the Thai’s evaluation of them, destroys the false image of Thailand an English writer had created.

A native of New Haven, Connecticut, Lord came to Unity College in 1973 as Chairman of the Center for Arts and Humanities.  He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Oberlin College and a Ph.D. from Case Western Reserve University.  He is a retired professor of history whose publications include Mo Bradley and Thailand; John F. Kennedy, Issues Past and Present; and Dubya: The Toxic Texan.
