Community Food Systems and Food Justice

Description
This course examines community-based approaches to building resilient and equitable food systems. Students will explore concepts of food sovereignty, food democracy, and food justice, with a focus on empowering marginalized communities and addressing food insecurity. Topics include community gardens, farmers’ markets, urban agriculture, and community-supported agriculture (CSA) programs. Through community engagement projects and service-learning experiences, students will gain practical skills in community organizing and participatory decision-making.
