Dr. Maurice Testa received his Ph.D. and M.S. in Geoscience from Mississippi State University. His research is in sedimentology and stratigraphy. Specifically, the role of micro organisms in the precipitation of calcium carbonates. Dr. Testa and his research students also work on environmental and planetary projects. Currently, they are working on the reproduction of lunar regolith so they can measure its moisture content. A step needed to grow food in greenhouses on the lunar surface. Dr. Testa teaches a wide array of courses related to environmental geology, stratigraphy, and paleontology.
