PhD in Entomology, BS degrees in Biology and Natural Sciences with a Chemistry Concentration
Dr. Sarah Ivers is an Instructor at Unity Environmental University. She received a PhD in Entomology from the University of Kentucky and two BS degrees, in Biology and Natural Sciences with a Chemistry Concentration, respectively from Shawnee State University. She has recently earned a BFA in Drawing with a minor in Photography, also from Shawnee State University. Dr. Ivers has taught a number of courses focused on organismal biology, including field courses in Costa Rica and Florida. She also teaches general biology courses and courses such as Voucher Specimen Preparation and Scientific Documentation and Communication, which are designed to help students develop technical skills for their future careers. Her primary research focus and interest lie in insect-plant relationships, biodiversity, and human impact on ecosystems. When not teaching, she spends time traveling for photography, preparing scientific illustrations, and spending time outdoors with her dogs.
