Emily Olson is an Adjunct Faculty for Distance Learning at Unity Environmental University. She received her M.S. in Ecology and Natural Resources and B.S. in Animal Science from St. Cloud State University. Emily’s current research focuses on the evolutionary relationships of deep-sea fishes. Her master’s thesis focused on the presence of fangs in ray-finned fishes. Prior to working in academia, Emily worked as a zookeeper for the Minnesota Zoo and Sea Life Minnesota Aquarium. She started her zookeeping career working with birds but then found her passion working with aquatic animals. Emily has worked with several endangered species but is particularly fond of sawfish, guitar sharks, and poison dart frogs. When not working, Emily likes to hike, fish, and scuba dive.
