Credentials

M.A. in Counseling with a concentration in School Counseling from Webster University

My professional career began as a science teacher in Orlando Florida. I later relocated to Atlanta, Georgia to work with students within the inner city. I have been an educator for 20 years, where I receive valuable experiences with a range of age groups and grade levels in a variety of educational settings and with diverse groups of learners and cultures. I earned a Master’s degree, M.A. in Counseling with a concentration in School Counseling from Webster University. I also earned a Specialist degree, Ed.S. in Educational Leadership, at Nova Southeastern University. I am currently employed as a special education administrator in one of the larger school districts in Atlanta, GA. When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, cooking, and traveling.

One of the techniques that I use to enhance my knowledge is simply creating a weekly task sheet. I make a list of everything that I have to do for the week. My weekly task sheet keeps me organized, focused, and more aware of what’s going on.

My responsibility as an online faculty member is to provide learning opportunities designed to encourage students to reach their full potential.  I believe in fostering the development of future education professionals by knowing them as individuals and understanding their learning profiles. I believe students should develop reflective skills as they personally construct and reconstruct their own theoretical and practical knowledge about learning and teaching. Through critical reflection, students also develop their understanding of and value for the diversity of others and for differences in learning needs.”

My expectation for my students is to work hard and put forth their best effort. I want to see everyone show some type of growth from the first to the last week. You will gain some knowledge about yourself and about others. Use this new information to help guide your learning. If there is anything that I can help to guide you through the next eight weeks please feel free to let me know. I look forward to working with you all 🙂
