Master of Fine Arts in Cinema and Photography
Rob O’Neil received his Master of Fine Arts in Cinema and Photography from the Southern Illinois University at Carbondale in 1998 and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Art with a concentration in Photography and a minor in Art History from the University of Akron in 1992.
Most recently, he has been an Upper School Photography Teacher at the Albany Academies. Previously, for twenty-one years, he was a tenured professor at the College of Saint Rose in Albany, NY. Professor O’Neil’s artistic output often concerns landscape and land uses in contemporary society, but also includes more interpersonal work involving vintage photographs. Current projects include an exploration of highway rest areas and studio photographs re-contextualizing images from elementary school curriculums from the early 20th century. He has exhibited locally and nationally and is in numerous permanent collections.
