MS in Art, Culture, and Technology
Ryan Aasen is an artist, researcher, and educator broadly interested in the politics of media technologies, including their social and ecological impacts. As an MIT Transmedia Storytelling Initiative fellow, he recently completed the experimental film Espejo Negro / Black Mirror about the ongoing impacts of colonialism on Puerto Rico’s attempts to transition to renewable energy. His current research focuses on the relationship between artificial intelligence and photography.
He has an MS in Art, Culture, and Technology from MIT and a BFA in Integrated Media from St. Cloud State University. He currently lives and works in New York City, where, in addition to Unity, he teaches art, design, and technology courses at Parsons School of Design and Stevens Institute of Technology.
