Baccalaureate Adjunct Faculty
Krista Croghan
Credentials
Master's in Spanish Language and Literature, Bachelor's in Education
After a brief career as a high school Spanish teacher, Krista (she/her) has been teaching online post-secondary Spanish since 2011. She earned her Bachelor’s in Education from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and her Master’s in Spanish Language and Literature from Colorado State University. Her skills and experience in online teaching led her to a career as an instructional designer, primarily in higher education. Her professional interests include technical writing, Universal Design for Learning, online course accessibility, and kindness in pedagogy. Krista resides in Lincoln, Nebraska with her husband, two teenage children, two Boston Terriers, and one cat. When she’s not working, Krista enjoys taking walks, working out at HOTWORX, reading, traveling, and following University of Nebraska sports, especially volleyball. GBR! Krista has visited Spain, Ecuador, the Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, and Mexico. Each of these places holds a special place in her heart, reflective of the adoration and appreciation she has for different cultures. She has come to discern that despite our varied patterns and nuances, in essence, we are mostly alike. In class, Krista goes by whatever the students are comfortable using: Krista and Mrs. Croghan are fine, but she signs correspondences with “Profe,” short for Profesora (Teacher) in Spanish.
